Chip manufacturer TSMC has again posted record profit as AI demands continue to outstrip supply, but executives are operating with some discretion amid rising component prices and global instabilities.

The company ended the third quarter of 2026 with $46.7 billion in net revenue and a net profit margin of 51.1%, marking its sixth record quarter in a row, and projected further growth for the end of the year.

But, CEO C.C. Wei said the company was “being prudent in our business planning” into 2027: “Looking ahead, we continue to observe consumer and price-sensitive end market segments are being challenged due to the impact of rising component prices and macroeconomic uncertainties.”

Despite Wei’s comments, TSMC projected Q4 revenue to grow to between $52.3 and $54.3 billion and overall 2026 revenue to rise by around 44%.
