In which The Stack takes a short Christmas break that may include mulled wine and rum...

Lots to look forward to in 2022...

The Stack’s small but mighty team are taking a Christmas break and not trying to hide it. From 2022 we will have more staff (we’re recruiting currently) and will be a true perpetual motion machine.

Thanks for reading during 2021. Whether you’ve followed for a while, or stumbled upon us via a search engine or social media post, we’re grateful and always welcome feedback as we build The Stack up.

We launched in December 2020 with a short note of thanks to our website builder, Caleb, in Lagos. It went unexpectedly viral with over a million views on LinkedIn alone and felt like a great way to launch the site.

Over the year since we have spoken to CIOs like JPMorgan’s Lori Beer, the Federal Reserve’s Pam Dyson, Procter & Gamble’s Vittorio Cretella; the CDO’s of the United Nations and Mastercard and many other IT leaders.

During our first calendar year we also launched a widely read and influential “one to watch” feature (check out the work Cutover, Element, Enveil, Firebolt, Persefoni, SkopeAI, StreamNative are doing for a flavour.)

We’ve also started running a new “job of the week” slot featuring CIO, CTO, CISO-level openings.

Another high point was our exclusive event on change management with NATO CIO Manfred Boudreaux-Dehmer, LSE Professor Lucia Garcia Lorenzo, Rainmaker MD Christina Hammond-Aziz and some wonderful guests.

A snapshot of that is below.

For commercial partners we have delivered thought leadership -- singled out for praise by founders in annual meetings -- delivered high quality BANT-qualified leads and run successful events, both physical and digital.

We’ve built up a LinkedIn following that includes some of the world’s most influential IT leaders with annual budgets we estimate to be in excess of $100 billion and industry-high organic engagement.

Coming up in 2022: A refreshed website, more video, some brilliant interviews and a strategic partnership with a brilliant organisation working to get more women into technology.

Your support keeps us thriving, honest and sustains what we hope is a little bite and colour that sometimes seems to be lacking across B2B publications. Wishing all of our readers good health this festive season, Merry Christmas to those celebrating, and warmest of wishes for the New Year on the horizon.

With thanks again for your support.
